Meet the three newest signings for Global6 in 2022.
Miguel Angel Fernandez
Date of birth: 21st March 1997 (24)
Nationality: Spain 🇪🇸
Riding competitively since the age of four, 2022 will be Miguel’s 21st season on the road. After racing with the Spanish team at races such as GP Miguel Induráin and Vuelta la Rioja, he moved up to continental level in 2020 but unfortunately, like many others, didn’t have many chances due to the pandemic. Determined to keep racing, however, he competed as an amateur throughout 2021, with 6 victories and many other impressive results to his name.
Ukko Peltonen
Date of birth: 15th June 1998 (23)
Nationality: Finland 🇫🇮
A former alpine skier turned mountain biker, Ukko spent two seasons off-road before trading the trails in the woods for tarmac. At 23 years old, he already has two Finnish National ITT Champ titles to his name and has a consistent track record with two second places at the National Road Champs!
Mulu Kinfe Hailemichael
Date of birth: 12th June 1999 (22)
Nationality: Ethiopia 🇪🇹
At just 22 years old, the former Ethiopian National Champ already has some impressive victories to his name, including a stage of the Tour of Rwanda.
Like many others, he found himself with a lack of opportunities due to the pandemic and returned home to Ethiopia, however not long after, the war started in his hometown.
Thankfully, he was able to return to Europe, but there was more bad luck to follow, as he broke two vertebrae in a crash while training. After a long recovery, it was then announced his team were no longer going to continue.
We’re looking forward to giving him an opportunity to show what he can do this season!
